Liquidity Services Appoints Karen Fascenda as Chief Human Resources Officer to Support Its Next Phase of Growth

Liquidity Services (NASDAQ: LQDT) has appointed Karen Fascenda as Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing an accomplished people leader into the business at an important point in its growth.

The company operates the world’s largest B2B e-commerce marketplace platform for surplus assets, connecting more than six million qualified buyers with 15,000 corporate and government sellers worldwide. Its platform has facilitated more than $15 billion in completed transactions, while helping organizations recover value from surplus assets, extend their useful life and reduce unnecessary waste.

Karen joins as Liquidity Services continues to build on that scale and expand the marketplace, software and organizational capabilities behind it.

Building the Organization Behind the Marketplace

Liquidity Services’ growth opportunity is about more than moving a greater volume of assets online. It is about continuing to strengthen the platform connecting sellers and buyers, while building an organization capable of supporting a larger and increasingly sophisticated global business.

That makes the CHRO role particularly important. Growth across marketplaces, technology, sales and operations requires a people strategy closely connected to the company’s commercial ambitions.

Karen has built her career doing exactly that.

An Exceptional People Leader for the Next Chapter

Karen brings more than 20 years of experience developing human capital strategies for high-growth e-commerce, technology and business services companies. Most recently, she served as Chief People Officer at Udemy. She previously held senior leadership positions at Gopuff and Comcast and spent nearly a decade at eBay.

Across those organizations, Karen has helped businesses navigate growth and change by connecting talent strategy to the needs of the company. Her experience spans organizational development, leadership, culture and the work of attracting, developing and retaining the people required to scale.

Chairman and CEO Bill Angrick highlighted Karen’s strong track record of aligning talent strategies with business growth. Karen, in turn, described Liquidity Services as a proven market leader with significant growth prospects and identified attracting, retaining, developing and motivating its employees as central to realizing those ambitions.

That alignment is what makes the appointment so compelling. Karen understands that people strategy is not separate from growth strategy. It is one of the primary ways a company turns its market opportunity into sustained performance.

She also brings deep academic grounding to the role, with a master’s degree in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Karen will report directly to Angrick and succeeds Novelette Murray, who is retiring after 16 years with Liquidity Services, including six years as CHRO. Murray leaves behind a strong foundation across talent acquisition, leadership development, succession planning and global workforce strategy.

Liquidity Services has already built a large, proven marketplace with an important role in the circular economy. Karen’s combination of strategic judgment, operating experience and commitment to building strong organizations makes her an exceptional leader to help shape what comes next.

The Lancer Group was proud to support this search.

Congratulations to Karen and the entire Liquidity Services team.
